Olivia, a university professor of fine arts, wakes up in an Istanbul hospital after having attempted suicide. There, she answers an investigator's questions about her collaboration in a network of antiquities smuggling, together with her Turkish lover Yaman. The protagonist's story reconstructs in two parts the overwhelming passion she experienced with Yaman, and which made her abandon her life project in Spain and her involvement in Yaman's dangerous business dealings.
